How do you know He loves you?

I hope adults are allowed to answer. Cause I swear, this just happened to me the other day. I've been worrying so much about something and when I asked Heavenly Father to just help me with a small part of the problem so I could at least feel like I was doing SOMETHING about it, not 5 minutes later, my mother phoned me. We talked, I unloaded and she helped me decide what to do about just one small part of what seems like a huge issue to me! I've been marveling over how much Heavenly Father loves me ever since! He really does answer prayers, even when you think that you shouldn't be bothering Him with such an insignificant issue. Thanks Laurel. You're the best.

For now, I'd love to answer your question (even though I'm not as Y as I once was...): When I was about eight-years-old I lived in a mortuary (I KNOW, scary, right?!). My bedroom was in the basement. One night I couldn't sleep. My imagination was running away with me. I was very scared. My parents were upstairs. They had friends over and they were playing games. I didn't know what to do. I was too afraid to go upstairs. I was too afraid to even kneel down. So, I prayed under my covers. I didn't even sit up. I just prayed and prayed. I was very specific. I asked Heavenly Father to please bless that my Mom would come down and sing to me. Sometimes she would sing to me at night to comfort me and I felt like this was exactly what I needed to help me feel better. Almost as soon as I said my prayers, my Mom came into the room. She said that the Holy Ghost had prompted her to check on me. She asked me if I would like her to sing my favorite Primary song - "I Wonder When He Comes Again" ... of course I said, "YES." I have KNOWN since that night that my Heavenly Father is aware of me INDIVIDUALLY and that He loves me. The years that have gone by since then have only given me more experiences to strengthen this knowledge and testimony. Thank you for the beautiful question. It is an important one. :) Love, Whit

To answer your question, I know that he loves me when he gives me trials and challenges. About a year ago I was in a marching band competition and I got hypothermia. At this point in my life, I wasn't praying or reading my scriptures, or having anything to do with the church- I just gave up. Well several times the night I encountered this serious problem- I went unconscious. While I was unconscious He gave me the choice to live or die. At some points I wanted to die, but my good friends were what were holding me here, they were my motive to live. I know now that He gave me that trial to get me back on the right path. He loved me SO MUCH that He went out of His way to give me a trial that would show me that He does love me and care about me, and He wants me to live with him again. Not only from that do I know that He loves me, but the very fact that He gives us a way to communicate with him. As well as the fact, that He took the time to create beautiful things for all of us to enjoy. That is how I KNOW that He loves me personally.
